A Round-Up of The Top Luxury Yachts in The World

Shipyards all over the globe test the limits of superyacht technology each year, delivering larger and faster boats. The Samuda-built El Mahrousa may well have held the crown for a record 119 years. However, she recently slipped down the rank in the twenty-first century to clear the way for ever bigger and faster boats. The internal facilities of such superyachts range from submarines to helicopters, even swimming pools, theatres, and research labs, demonstrating that they are genuinely ground-breaking marvels of technology. Eclipse departed the Blohm + Voss shipyard in December 2010 following five years of rigorous planning, testing, and production. She was reportedly the world’s biggest superyacht for three years until being beaten back by Azzam.

Eclipse has a diesel-electric motor engine with turbines supporting spinning Azipod propellers, striking outward style, as well as a magnificent interior layout from London-based Terence Dinsdale Architecture, which is handled via Blue Ocean Yacht Maintenance.

In October 2013, Lürssen launched the Azzam, the biggest global privately operated superyacht. It was meant to measure 145 meters long but expanded to 180 meters throughout the optimization phase. Azzam’s remarkable layout also has an astounding 13,000 GT with accommodations for 36 people and up to 80 members of the crew.

The monster was purportedly created for Abu Dhabi’s elite family’s Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan to employ as just a dayboat to visit his preferred swimming spots. Christophe Leoni constructed the central saloon, which spans almost 522 meters square and features a comfortable French Imperial style with mother of pearl accents. A gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a unique ‘golf practice room’ are all available onboard.

Prince Jafri of Brunei recruited Andrew Winch to build the external and indoor aesthetics for Dubai. The Blohm& Voss construction was put on hold in 1998, having just the shell and a portion of its superstructure completed. It was later purchased by the Government of Dubai, while ownership was transferred to Platinum Yachts’ Kostis Antonopoulos, who finished a redesigned in-house inner redesign around 2006.

Dubai is now the sovereign vessel of Dubai’s Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. The resort, developed by Nakheel Interiors, has an owner’s room, five VIP rooms, and six guest rooms, each with wide terraces, for 24 people.

Of course, these superyachts are for the elite, and only some people can enjoy their luxuries. If you’re looking for a more affordable and luxurious option, Cabo Yacht World offers a huge fleet of yachts and boats for rent for you to choose from. Check out our yachts for rent in Cabo, San Lucas.
