Whale watching is a delight, and people wait for the whale season to amuse themselves. Surely, a convenient way for whale watching is to book a rental yacht. At Cabo Yacht World, we are one of the finest luxury yacht rentals in Cabo San Lucas, and provide private boats for a mesmerizing whale watching experience.
If you’re thinking of renting a yacht to catch a whale watching show, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s a brief rundown of the whole experience.
What to Expect From Whales?
Whales conduct themselves in different ways, and Gray and Humpback whales show the following actions:
- Breaching—Coming out of the water. A full breach is when the whale’s whole body leaps out of the water.
- Kickfeeding —Before going in, the whale splashes the water around it with its uplifted tail
- Logging— lying quietly on the water surface
- Spyhopping — Only its head comes out of the water upright
- Lobtailing —Only its tail comes out, and the surface of the water is slapped vigorously
Besides these, whales show many behaviors such as rounding out their bodies, blowing water, making a high/low fluking dive, and creating a bubble net.
Tips to Elevate the Experience
- Some people have motion sickness, and they should opt for a stable boat option. Small boats are unstable, and their motion can make people feel sea sick.
- Take your binoculars and camera with the telephoto zoom lens.
- Apply loads of sunscreen
- Be patient; kids can get impatient while waiting for a whale breach. Carry board games/coloring books/iPads to keep them busy while waiting
- Take extra clothes as there is going to be a lot of splashes
